This year, develop.idaho has been able to obtain an amazing array of innovative, business-minded and tech savvy entrepreneurs, leaders and subject matter experts from Idaho and beyond.

Gregg Kaplan

Gregg Kaplan was the Founder and Former CEO of Redbox DVD Rental, bringing it from scratch in 2002 to over $2 billion in revenue in 11 years.

Currently, Mr. Kaplan is an Operating Partner at the Pritzker Group Private Capital overseeing the Services Sector.

Prior to the Pritzker Group, Mr. Kaplan was the President and COO of Coinstar Inc. In this role, Mr. Kaplan oversaw two large businesses: Redbox and Coin. In total, these businesses comprised over $2.2 billion in revenue. Mr. Kaplan joined Coinstar in April 2009, following the acquisition of Redbox by Coinstar. During Gregg's four years (2009 - 2012) as President and COO, revenue increased from $1.0B in 2009 to over $2.2B in 2012; EBITDA increased from $204M to $461M and EPS increased from $1.20 to $4.67

Prior to Coinstar, Mr. Kaplan founded Redbox DVD Rental. Redbox rents new release DVDs to consumers from automated kiosks for the low price of $1 per day. Mr. Kaplan was CEO of Redbox for nearly 7 years, bringing Redbox from incubation with just a few DVD kiosks in one market to over 20,000 kiosks across 48 states and from $0 in revenue to over $700 million. Over the same time, Mr. Kaplan oversaw the Redbox team’s growth from 5 people to over 1,200 employees, with Mr. Kaplan building the entire management team.

Prior to Redbox, Mr. Kaplan worked: in Strategy at McDonald’s Corporation; as a Partner and early employee in the venture capital area of divine interVentures; an early employee at another startup,; and was an investment banker at Furman Selz, an investment bank in NY.

Mr. Kaplan is active in Young Presidents Organization and in 2009, Mr. Kaplan was a finalist for Ernst & Young’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” and a finalist for Illinois Technology Association’s “CEO of the Year” award. Mr. Kaplan was recently named by Crain’s Chicago Business as one of the “40 under 40”

Mr. Kaplan earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BA in Philosophy from the University of Michigan.


Matt Rissell

Matt Rissell is the co-founder and CEO of TSheets, a technology firm that provides online, GPS-powered time tracking and scheduling for companies with hourly employees. TSheets has grown 100 percent year-over-year for the past four years and recently been featured on Google’s Economic Impact Report and has received Entrepreneur's Top Company Culture award, Idaho’s Innovative Company of the Year and two time winner of Best Place to Work in Idaho.

A serial entrepreneur with six successful startups under his belt, Matt is a regular contributor to Forbes, American Express OPEN Forum, and The Huffington Post, as well as a nationally acclaimed public speaker. He frequently shares his story about life in the entrepreneurial trenches, owning up to failure, and small-business growth (most notably his quest to $30 billion).




Pronounced like (potion picks), Poetionpics is a tech startup that allows companies to better advertise on social media. We create sharebooks -- brief digital e-books that can be shared on social media. The sharebooks can be used to expose events in real time as they happen & showcase products. 

There is also a fictional sharebook component in which writers may share artwork or stories on our site & other social networks for instant publication of their works. 



Talentpair is a self-funded startup in downtown Boise that is building a product for the $300B talent acquisition market. Our team of engineers, data scientists, product managers, and recruiting industry veterans have created a scalable, intelligent platform to match job seekers with their next opportunity.  The Talentpair platform uses a combination of machine learning and hiring experts to make it fast and simple for companies to scale their teams. We’re currently working with beta customers in the San Francisco market. Our public launch and new market openings are coming soon.
